Sparta FRESH Farmer's Market is a partnership of DREAM Streets Sparta, the Sparta Hancock County Historic Preservation Commission, and our 45+ wonderful hardworking Community vendors, Farmers, artists, and entrepreneurs. Locally grown produce, vegetables,fruits, heirloom and organic and in season, baked goods - breads, bagels, rolls and buns, canned goods from locally grown produce , jams and jellies, our eggs - are by certified handlers, our new meat vendor - beef, pork and sausage are locally grown from multi generational family farms, we even feature locally grown shitake mushrooms , local natural honeys, herbs, a mini greenhouse with micro greens for your sandwiches, soups, stews, and salads, handmade soaps and candles, beautiful local wildlife photography, exotic wood cutting and charcuterie boards, gift items, herbal tinctures and elixirs, and healing salves, handcrafted jewelry, beautiful heirloom quilts, hand stitched market bags, fresh flowers, one of a kind locally produced arts and crafts, and unique t-shirts.We also have Heavenly Pies, cakes, and gourmet cookies, as well as gourmet boiled AND deep fried peanuts, and lemonades, with specialty flavors found only at our Market, and in collaboration with other vendors. Our selection of vendors varies each week and offers a unique nostalgic experience. Vendors sometimes vary with seasons and several offer paid apprenticeships as well as mentoring. We encourage our young entrepreneurs - some as young as six years old! Our SPARTA FRESH Farmer's Market is housed on the wide covered front porch of the historic Sparta Mushroom. The Mushroom Factory produces gourmet mushrooms for high end restaurants, mostly in the Atlanta area. We also partner with a variety of food trucks (a Seafood Food Truck with a variety of others periodically) , a Flower Shop, and a local antique store. Our Sparta FRESH Farmer's Market every Friday from 2-6 ( or while supplies last) and runs May thru November, or as long as Mother Nature supplies us with fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables.
