Talihina Farmers' Market is looking forward to year number 5 selling fresh, local produce to the citizens of the town of Talihina.
Located in the Kiamichi River Valley, the growers and vendors of the market bring in traditional crops such as corn, squash, beans, okra, tomatoes, potatoes, onions and garlic. The farmers in the valley are also open to grow anything that sounds good or anything that is requested to grow.
The growers are expanding into the culinary herb market and many new fruits and vegetables from the growing populations of diverse ethnicity.
The market has a new location. They are located at 400 Second St. in downtown Talihina. At the present, one of the buildings on the site has been removed and there is work in progress for the second building to be demolished and hauled away. After that is a community effort for a new certified kitchen and selling grounds.
