White Rock Local Market

White Rock Local Market was founded in 2009 with the idea that a neighborhood farmers market would improve the health and quality of life in East Dallas. Now into its sixth market season, White Rock Local Market operates a growers-only farmers market near White Rock Lake in east Dallas each Saturday from March through December. We have two locations - Lakeside Baptist Church parking lot on 1st and 3rd Saturdays, and our original location at Green Spot, 702 N. Buckner on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. WRLM is a juried market that attracts growers and artisans from a 150 mile radius. No middlemen - our vendors raise, grow, or make what they sell. We are committed to our growers-only and local only guidelines. We are happy to visit every farm, and we form lasting relationships with all of our vendors. Expanding the availability of locally produced, nutritious and affordable food is the goal with all of White Rock Local Market�??s programming. During difficult economic times WRLM has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in economic activity, and had a positive impact on the nutritional habits of our neighbors. We have incubated small businesses, provided crucial support to small farmers, funded workshops and field trips for kids, and introduced a successful SNAP/ Lone Star food stamp program. Throughout the year we host several special events -- a pie contest, chili cook-off, salsa contest and farm-to-market cooking demonstrations. Check our website and calendar for dates.
