Family Farm
A farm owned by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary at their Villa Maria Convent. Operate a 280 acre low-input grain and hay farm; a 8 acre non-certified organic produce, herb and flower farm which gives away 50% of produce to the local under privileged and sells produce via a on-farm market and a CSA. Also have a herd of 50 American Parks heritage beef cattle and a small flock of sheep. Ear corn, straw and hay are available for sale to the public; additionally, lamb is available seasonally. In addition to our produce giveaway, we have summer work programs with several groups of at-risk juveniles; host numerous farm tours, school field trips (pre-k to graduate school) and workshops; and work in conjunction with an on site Retreat and Educational Center. Accept college or graduate school level internships; and volunteer service work.
