We are continuing to develop our two acre Englewood farm on the south side of Chicago, by cultivating biodiversity through the compost we create on site, herb and flower beds, bee hives and fruiting trees. We use organic methods on the farm, but are not certified. We do not use synthetic pesticides or herbicides, as we wish to bring our farm into balance through natural and time honored techniques, such as creating an environment that encourages beneficial insects to thrive.
The farm is the backbone of our CSA, however we also partner with other local Midwest farmers who share our values so that we can offer a greater variety of produce to our members, and support small farmers too. For this reason, we call our CSA "LUCSA", standing for "Local Unified" CSA. We also partner with local Good Food producers to put mushrooms, bread, eggs, and a rotating beverage (tea, coffee, kombucha, juice, etc.) in each share. We offer weekly or biweekly shares, with delivery included. We also accept LINK!
Members can also sign up for a meat or subscription, and have access to our add on shop of more locally made products to include with your delivery.
In order to complete the food cycle, we also offer a program called Compost Club, residential and commercial composting services which allow anyone to compost their food scraps. To find more information about these services, please check out our website!
