A small adaptive multi specie farm where emphasis is on heirloom produce, ancient grains, and heritage animals. Our meats are USDA Pastured Berkshire pork, Irish Dexter Beef,Jacob sheep, heritage turkey, chicken, and rabbit. We also have Coturnix Quail. We have lard, herbals for making your own preparations,as well as our own teas. Nestled into the Eastern Sierras we wild gather elderberries that grow native on our land, as well as rose hips, and chokecherry. In fall and winter months we make wild gathering a part of our farm with pine cones. We grow cider apples which are excellent for making your own cider or pies in terms of flavor as many or heirloom varieties - although at this juncture we sell as mixed varieties as we mature our deep bedding permaculture orchard. Guests will be able to stay on farm next spring in our tiny farm stay cottages. Expect to be unplugged ( unless you bring your own technology ) eat simple clean food, and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the Eastern Sierras. We have a paid for intern program where you may register for a skills course, learn new or hone your homesteading experience. Classes and registration are announced each spring in April. We have begun our Herb CSA membership which will be listed in our Local Harvest Store. This included fresh and dried herbs each month with recipes for medicinal uses as well as culinary. We have been called Girlfarm for so long by locals that we forget that it may mean something different to others - yes, women run the farm however, we are a farm that is truly supported and filled with volunteers or all ages, skills, and gender. Feel free to contact wendy at the email listed for any questions.
