Established in 1981
The Saturday Downtown Market opened ten years after the Wednesday Market in the same location. As Santa Monica's second CFM, it had a different mission to fulfill. With the passage of the California Organic Foods Act of 1990, consumers were naturally eager for more organic produce and another market for weekend shopping.
