The Flint Farmers' Market, under the management of Uptown Reinvestment Corporation since 2002, is recognized as one of the finest public markets in Southeast Michigan. The market opened in its new downtown location in June of 2014. It features fifty inside vendors, two commercial kitchens, a demonstration kitchen, a community room, a beautiful indoor atrium, and a large exterior pavilion which houses forty producers during the summer months.
Located next the UM Flint's downtown campus, across the street from Willson Park, the market may be reached off I-475, exit 7 (Flint's downtown exit). As a year round the market the FFM is open every Tuesday and Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and every Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Of special interest during the winter months, the indoor market houses three produce vendors who grow in hoop houses. This means fresh, picked daily, greens and salad ingredients are available every market day. The Flint market is truly a farmers' market, even during the cold winter months!
With friendly and knowledgeable vendors, a welcoming atmosphere, enjoyable entertainment, and a rich variety of excellent products, the new market has become one of Genesee County's distinctive destinations.
