The Moon & Stars Yellow-Fleshed Watermelon has a dark green skin flecked with yellow speckles and golden burst spots, giving it the appearance of a living galaxy. Graced with white seeds and a slightly ridged, thick rind, the Moon & Stars can reach up to forty pounds when thump-ready for eating. Its flesh is extraordinarily sweet and flavorful. The seeds for this watermelon, though popular in the before 1900, were thought to be gone forever until the 1980s, when Kent Whealy of Seed Savers Exchange, in collaboration with a Missouri farmer named Merle Van Doren, helped to resuscitate the breed and widely spread its popularity.
Dunwoody Spruill Green Market is a 5th year Producer only Market that is open May - November . Our hours are Wednesdays from 8am-12:00 Noon. We raise pastured poultry (heritage breed chickens and turkeys), meat goats (Boer/Xs), meat sheep (Katahdin/Dorper/Barbados), feeder calves and feeder pigs. We are all natural with no steroids, hormones or medications and only use natural fertilizers and insect control methods.

Al's Vegetables are 100% Certified Organic by Ohio Ecoclogical Food and Farm Alliance. Allan Weilnau has been farming all his life and the current farm has been up and running for over a decade. His daughter Kate joined him at the farm 6 years ago.
Their farming practices are truly sustainable. They do not use plastic mulch or any organic approved pesticides and herbicides. They only use on farm inputs like hay and ashes from the winter wood stove.
