The Delaware Chicken is a dual purpose chicken that produces good meat and eggs. In 1940, George Ellis originally produced this chicken calling it the Indian River Chicken. This almost entirely white bird was once one of the most popular broiler chickens in its area. Starting in the late 1950's, the Cornish Rock cross came to dominate the industry. We are a small family poultry farm. We have guineas, 5 breeds of chickens, and 2 breeds of turkeys. We hatch our own eggs and raise all our own birds. We sell farm fresh brown eggs all year long. Our chickens consist of 3 heritage breeds: Delawares, Buckeyes, and Barred Rocks; also Buff Orpingtons (an English breed) and Araucanas (the "Easter egg chickens"). We also raise and sell our Narragansett turkeys (a heritage breed) for the Thanksgiving holiday.

We are a small farm raising Registered Gulf Coast Sheep, heritage breed chickens and heirloom varieties of fruits and vegetables. We raise everything without the use of chemicals and we care for our soil with minimal impact from our animals and minimal tilling in the gardens. We are small family farm located in Mansfield PA. We raise our animals, vegetables and fiber as naturally as possible. All of our animals are grass fed, and we raise all of our own meats; we also raise many heritage breeds. We are dedicated to farming animals and plants by non-industrial, grass based standards. All of our animals are free to be what they are. We currently have heritage breed chicken eggs. Our plans for 2009 include, heritage turkeys for the holidays, meat chicken through the summer months, eggs all year. We have a year round horseback riding school. Future plans include pastured beef, swine, sheep and goat.
